Kalorama Triangle and Sheridan-Kalorama are two residential areas in the Kalorama neighborhood. Its origins may be traced back to the 17th century. Some constructions show classical architecture inspired by the Victorian era. Even though this neighbourhood has a rich history, it maintains the pleasant and perfect sub-urban ambiance that is typical of The District's residential districts. Kalorama, which means "good view" in Greek, was named after a magnificent, classical mansion erected on one of the city's highest hills in 1807. Though the estate is no longer there, the namesake neighborhood now houses some of DC's most prominent locations, including diplomatic homes and embassies.
